‘Twas the night before Christmas….
How can another year be nearly over?
I can say with all honesty that 2022 has flown by.
The last year has been one hell of a ride; it’s been full of challenge, growth and endurance. I sailed past the two year anniversary of my last hospital admission with barely a ripple. I’ve continued to grow and gain confidence in my role at the paper, and I have continued to build my skills as a photographer and a writer.
My self-confidence has been improving as well. While I still find myself second-guessing myself, at times, it no longer happens anywhere near as often or as severely as it used to and when I make decisions they are with much more conviction and justification.
While having my medication properly balanced is one part of the equation, making sure I try to eat at least somewhat healthily and get my proper sleep are two other very important pieces of the overall puzzle. Nothing screws me up faster than getting my sleep off kilter.
Still, the fact that I’m doing as well as I am isn’t a fluke, but the result of a lot of hard work and effort over the last decade.
While 2022 has had some challenges, I feel it has been mainly a year of growth and I am optimistic for what 2023 will hold.
Overall, my goals for 2023 are similar to what they were for 2022; keep doing what I’m doing as far as work goes. Pick up some more courses for school, and do all the con-ed I can get my hands for work. If I can get in a photography workshop or two in 2023, that would be a bonus as well.
Once the weather improves, I want to get on the road a bit more. As long as fuel prices don’t become prohibitively expensive again, I’d like to do some day- or overnight photography trips across the province we call home.
I’ve had a lot of successes in 2022, and I definitely want to keep the forward momentum going.
However, for now, I am going to enjoy the festive season with family and get some of that much needed downtime.
Thanks everyone for following along my journey, and I’ll see you in 2023!
