The last couple of weeks have gone by in a blur.
Last week was fairly busy, with interviews and meetings for work, which I tried to get caught up on before Lynn and I headed to Calgary on Friday, for the 2021 edition of the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo.
The expo was three days of craziness, but it was a blast all the same. It was significantly less crowded than previous Expos, and the Calgary Stampede staff and the Expo volunteers were doing a fantastic job keeping things clean and sanitized. If there was any complaining about having to wear a mask for the weekend, I didn’t hear any. I could literally count on one hand the number of people who weren’t wearing.
I managed to get through the weekend fairly well. I didn’t need rescue meds, headphones, or to otherwise escape, which is a significant departure when compared to years past.

The highlight for the weekend had to be meeting the voice actors who brought Arthur Morgan and John Marston to life in Red Dead Redemption 2. Roger Clark and Rob Weithoff were great to meet, and their panel was hilarious. I did get my fan-boy on, and got their autographs on prints from the game, which I will be framing and putting up in my office.
Since coming home on Monday, I have been busy. I had meetings on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, as well as catching up on some writing from the previous week. In light of the provincial government announcement on Wednesday, I am grateful that Calgary Expo was able to go ahead. With the announcements made, the Edmonton Expo, set for the beginning of October, was forced to cancel for a second year in a row.

I will be happy when this insanity is behind us. In the meantime, work is keeping me busy, as is school. This weekend, I am going to try and grab some downtime, but I still do have some work and studying to do.
