Enjoying the peace of morning…

How can you be upset with this face waking you up???

Thanks to a puggle who needed to go outside earlier than normal this morning, I was up earlier than my usual wakeup lately. I’m not even mad.

I’ve been wanting to start getting up earlier again. Lately, I’ve just been so fatigued that I’ve been sleeping in later and later, which I’m honestly not liking. My usual wakeup time has shifted from between 7:30 and 8:30 to between 9:00 and 10:00.

While still not excessively sleeping, that is still late enough, I’d like to shift things earlier again.

This morning I was reminded why I enjoy the early mornings. It’s quiet. It’s relaxing. I’m able to sit down at my desk, and get a few things done early in the day. This morning I went through my course modules for my upcoming history course, and ordered the university library materials needed for it, as well as prepping the ones for my last class for return. I also watched a couple of YouTube videos, sent a couple emails, and listened to an episode of “The Murderbook,” Micheal Connelly’s true crime podcast. All this was before 9:30.

The rest of the day is going to be busy as well.

I’m covering the store first thing this morning as Lynn is taking a webinar for a board she sits on. When she is done, she is joining me for lunch, then I’m feeling up the jeep and heading into Stettler to run some errands and meet my editor for coffee.

One of the things I’m picking up in Stettler is an Apple Pencil. Lynn. bought me a version two for my birthday; unfortunately, it’s not compatible with my iPad, so I found a version one for a good price. I was unable to return the version 2 because it was opened, I didn’t realize it was incompatible un til I tried to pair it to my device. I’m attempting to sell, so hopefully we’ll get our money back, because it is essentially brand-new.

Still, it’s annoying, but there’s not much I can do about it. Lynn ordered the one I asked for, I just didn’t realize it was incompatible. She ordered it during my three weeks of craziness, and I didn’t really look as closely at things as I should have. It’s a painful, costly, lesson, but a lesson none the less.

Tonight, after I’m done in Stettler, I have a board meeting, so it’s going to be a busy day. Things slow down a bit again on Thursday, which I’m not complaining about. It’s just a matter of time until everything picks up again.
