The last few days have been quiet.
Work has, unfortunately, slowed to a trickle, and with the completion of my final assignment for my composition course the stress of school has been taken off as well. Well, at least partially.
I write my final exam in just under two weeks, and then transition into my history course. I started looking into the first module of the history course yesterday, and I think I’m going to get an early start on the course because it looks intense. The course does have a recommended study schedule which I am going to attempt to follow just to keep myself on pace. It looks like it’s going to be challenging, but I am looking forward to it.
After breaking for the weekend, I’ve slipped back into my workout regime, alternating between cardio days and weight days, and that’s been going well. I’m still not dumping as much weight as I would like, but overall I am feeling better regardless of what the scale is saying. I’m hoping that with persistence the number will start coming down though.
Unfortunately, I think my treadmill is dying. It keeps stuttering when I step, and the belt is not seeming to keep pace with the speed adjustment. I tried tightening the belt, and it’s usable, but still not quite right. The part that sucks the most is that the treadmill is my most heavily used piece of equipment, and likely the most costly to replace. For the moment it’s functional, but still not quite right. I’ll keep playing with it and see if I can get it dialled in properly…and in the mean time I will start keeping my eyes open for a potential replacement. I’d rather not have to replace it, but this thing doesn’t owe me any favours. I’ve had it for damn near 10 years, and it was used when I bought it.
Something else I do need to do as well is get back into my photography. I’ve been for one evening drive in the last couple of months, so unfortunately have not been generating any new content for my website or social media feeds. Between school and work that is one element of my day to day life that has unfortunately taken a back seat, and that is something I’m going to have to correct sooner rather than later. I’m still growing as a photographer, and I need to make time to get out into the world and hone my craft.
Overall though, despite never seeming like I have enough time, things are going well. I’m in good shape to write my exam in a couple weeks. I’ve been maintaining my fitness regime, I am getting SOME work, and mentally I feel like I’m coping well. A few minor tweaks to my time management and I think I will be able to maintain things quite well.
