Life is good

Between trying to keep up with my five-year-old niece and catching up on work, I am tired tonight.

It’s been a great day though.

My sister is visiting for a couple days with her daughter which has been awesome, and Lynn and I took my niece swimming this afternoon at our town’s outdoor pool. Between the walking I did yesterday and the swimming today I am feeling fairly tired, but I am feeling accomplished none-the less.

I covered two fairly important events in our region, and got them both written up and submitted before the end of the weekend. I’ve managed to spend some quality time with my niece, get my work done, and still find time to look after myself.

It’s a win.

The fatigue I’m feeling is a good fatigue, where I’ve used my muscles and my brain. I’ve pushed myself hard, but have managed to maintain a balance. I’m definitely learning from past mistakes.

This upcoming week is going to be busy, with various meetings and events to cover. Fortunately tomorrow morning is relatively light and I’m able to have some down-time before things get too busy.

The week after is going to be somewhat lighter, allowing me to recover a bit before things pick up at the beginning of September.

I think I can truly say that I’m happy right now. I love my job. I love that I’m getting back to school. I’m optimistic for what the future holds. I’m finding a balance that is a good fit. Right now I can truly say that life is good.
