Yesterday was my eleventh anniversary to Lynn.
The last eleven years have been full of highs and lows as I battle with my mental health. Through it all she has been my rock.
She has supported me, encouraged me, and given me a swift kick in the ass when needed.
I feel somewhat remiss that this post didn’t make it up yesterday, however between other commitments and the impact of the family member who decided to call me out on my social media account for being an attention seeking crybaby, my mind was elsewhere.
The comments from the family member hurt. They said he knew me, yet we haven’t spoken in nearly a decade. Lynn couldn’t even remember meeting the family member and told them as such, as she was one of the first to step up in retaliation of their comment.
For those who do know me, they know that I don’t blog for the attention. I blog to educate, to inform, and to seek support when I am struggling. I blog to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness and it’s many faces.
To Lynn and the rest of my supporters who stepped in when I was too shaken to after this older family member commented, I thank you for having my back. I am truly in awe of all my supporters, and if nothing else this incident has shown me that I am on the right path with my blog, my education plans, and my new career.
As for the start of this post, it comes a day late, but happy eleventh anniversary babe. Thank you for always having my back and being my rock through the good times and the babe, and I pray for many more anniversaries to come.
