I’m back in the store for another day before a couple days off, at least from here, while Lynn is on her trip to Saskatchewan.
Unfortunately, her trip got off to a bumpy start, with the alternator on the explorer deciding to pack it in just outside Unity, Saskatchewan. Fortunately the shop it was towed to was able to diagnose the problem, and get the parts ordered, so she should be back on the road to Melville later today.
I’m just glad it was a simple, and somewhat easy fix, even if she did get delayed 24hrs waiting for parts. The explorer has over 315,000 km on it, and she’s tired. With the other issues that truck has, such as the motor for the driver seat adjust being blown, and the side windows not wanting to roll up and down (though that is apparently cured…) I was worried that the computer in it was failing.
Brian and his crew of misfits have been at the house working on the fence, and the hope is to get it done today or tomorrow, as long as parts arrive and the weather stays away. I have to say, Brian and his crew have been doing a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend them if you need a good quality fence built.
If they get the hardware they are waiting on and the weather holds the fence should be pretty close to finished today. It will be nice for the dogs to have the area to run around, and it will also be nice to see this project hit the rearview.
Mentally, I’m feeling good, but tired.
I was up before my alarm this morning, and I’ve kind of been dragging ass ever-since. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, though copious amount of coffee has helped.
Mentally and physically, I feel like I’m firing on all cylinders right now. I’ve dropped below 245lbs for the first time in I don’t know how long. My blood pressure is slowly coming down, thanks to a combination of meds and exercise. My shoulder is strengthening, and it no longer bothers me the way it once did when it was torn. I know that it is easy to re-injure, but as long as I take precautions and continue to strengthen it, it should be good.
My creative juices are starting to flow again as well. I’ve been working on some plot points for the story I’m working on. I still have no idea when it will be ready for release, but every day is a day closer.
I know there are still some things in my life I need to work on, such as my time management, but slowly those skills are coming as well, and I am getting more efficient with my time. Stepping away from the Playstation has helped in that regard. I’m spending nowhere near the time on my games as I used to, and I have to say, I’m not really missing it.
It’s about setting priorities.
Of late, my priorities have been my writing, my health, and of course coordinating the projects at the house. Once the priorities are set, it makes the lifestyle changes that are needed to make those priorities happen.
