I’m feeling pretty good.
It shows in my work. It shows in my moods. It shows in my energy level.
I am definitely on a high point right now, and I write about in this blog.
The thing is, what people see in this blog is a snapshot of my life. It chronicles my highs and lows, but it doesn’t tell the entire story.
It doesn’t adequately describe the struggle I face to get and keep myself motivated. It can’t convey the true impact of the hundreds of hours I’ve spent in appointments, or on the road to them.
It can’t convey the true impact of the days I’ve lost in hospital. The feelings of despair I’ve felt.
I endeavour to be open and honest in this blog. I aim to educate and give hope.
I appreciate every comment that is made about my work on the blog and for the paper. Those comments lift me up and keep me doing what I love.
Jus remember, we are all the same, but all different. You never know what is truly going on behind the highlights you see.
You see on social media that someone has a boat and deduce he must be rich. Behind the picture is hours away from family working to make the payments. Missed birthdays. Missed anniversaries.
It’s human nature to share the highlights of life, but they don’t share the full story. I leave you this, get to know people. Learn who they really are. Don’t compare yourself to someone’s highlight reel, you will be disappointed every single time.
All that being said, what’s on your highlight reel?
