A new year is upon us, and it brings with it new promise. The last few weeks have been fairly busy, which has led to my hiatus from blogging. I sincerely hope that everyone has had a great holiday season, although I know that with the travel and disruption to my routine, it did hit me hard. I was definitely happy to be getting back into my routine.
I know I struggled all through November and December, however since we got home on January 2, I have been rebounding. I am just wondering if anyone else out there who may read this has the same sort of occurrence over the holidays?
Since I’ve been home, I have been managing to keep myself somewhat busy, catching up on things around the house. I haven’t been able to get myself working out though. The motivation for that has remained elusive to me. However stuff at home has been getting done. I managed to get 3 years worth of filing done, repaired a door in the basement, replaced a pressure relief valve on our hot water tank, and day to day tidying. I have also spent quite a bit of time gaming.
I know I have talked before about how gaming is my escape, and that still stands true. That being said, the game I keep coming back to is Fallout 4. In my opinion, for what it’s worth, the game is unique. The depth of the mythology is absolutely stunning. I am on my third play-through of it, including the DLCs, and the experience has never been the same twice. I still continue to find random quests, items, locations, and features that I have never stumbled upon before in the main game, and as far as the DLC packs, well, I have barely scratched the surface of nuke world, and I am about half way through Far Harbour.
My other favourite game is the Uncharted series. The exploits and adventures of Nathan Drake, Elena, and Sully feature amazing writing, and play more like 16-20hour action movies than a video game. The art work in the series is stunning, and features everything from a WWII submarine stuck in a river in the jungle, to Drake climbing for his life in the Himalayan Mountains of Tibet, to the sun baked deserts of the middle east.
As part of my blog, I have focused on what I do to try and keep myself healthy. I am planning to incorporate more fitness components, however, as I am such an avid gamer I have decided I am going to bring some of that into future posts as well.
Thanks for reading, and see you soon,
